The Oil Minister discusses with Chevron America ways to boost cooperation and investment in the oil and gas sector
The Minister of Oil, Engineer Basim Mohammed Khudair Al-Abadi, received Jake Sperling, the Head of Business Development at the American company Chevron, along with his accompanying delegation to discuss prospects for joint cooperation between the Ministry of Oil and the company, as well as ways to expand partnership in the fields of oil industry development and investment in the oil and gas sectors.
The meeting included discussions on cooperation opportunities that support the ministry's plans to increase production, develop infrastructure, and benefit from the expertise and advanced technologies possessed by global companies, contributing to the development and efficiency of the oil sector.
The Minister of Oil emphasized the ministry’s keenness to expand cooperation with reputable global companies, in a way that serves mutual interests and helps execute strategic projects benefiting the oil and gas sector in Iraq.
For his part, the Chevron delegation expressed its interest in strengthening cooperation with Iraq and exploring future investment opportunities in the oil and gas sectors, reflecting the company's desire to expand its presence in the Iraqi market.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of Basra Oil Company and the Director General of the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO).
