The Minister of Oil, Engineer Bassam Mohammed Khudhair Al-Abadi, received in Washington the President of the Atlantic Research Center, Ms. Victoria Taylor, along with her accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they discussed the current status of the energy sector in Iraq, the challenges and opportunities for its development, as well as prospects for cooperation, exchanging research and studies in the fields of oil, gas, and energy, and developing infrastructure.

The minister reviewed the report prepared by the Atlantic Research Center on Iraq's energy sector, which included insights and analyses regarding the state of the oil industry, ways to enhance investment, infrastructure development, and improving production efficiency.

The minister emphasized the Ministry of Oil's keenness to engage with credible research and study centers and benefit from specialized studies and reports that contribute to supporting the ministry's strategic plans and developing the energy sector in a way that serves the national interest.

The meeting was attended by the General Manager of Basra Oil Company, Mr. Bassam Abdulkarim, and the General Manager of the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO), Mr. Ali Nizar.
